Aerial Silks

Come fly with us

Aerial yoga is a hybrid practice that combines traditional yoga postures, Pilates, and dance with the support of a suspended fabric hammock. Also known as "antigravity yoga", it uses a loop of high-density nylon material securely anchored to the ceiling to support your body weight off the ground.

By using the hammock, practitioners can perform advanced inversions, deep stretches, and balancing poses with a reduced risk of strain or injury. Core health benefits include:

  • Spinal decompression: hanging upside down creates a passive pull that relieves pressure on your spinal discs
  • Core strength: balancing on an unstable, moving fabric loop forces your abdominal and stabilizing muscles to work constantly
  • Upper body conditioning: pulling yourself into the hammock builds significant grip, arm, shoulder, and back strength
  • Enhanced flexibility: the fabric acts as a supportive prop, allowing you to settle deeper into stretches safely
  • Low-impact movement: taking your weight off the floor protects your joints, making it highly accessible for people with knee or hip issues

Deeply meditative, surprisingly accessible, and utterly transformative — whatever your level of experience. Gina is trained in aerial silks instruction and runs regular aerial silks workshops. You can also book private 1:1 or small group sessions (up to five). Contact us to find out more.
